The Mañe Azpi farmhouse , built in the 17th century, has been a home for generations, bonded to the countryside, animals and rural life typical of the Basque Country. The history of our farmhouse speaks of tradition, effort and deep roots in the land of Mallabia.
In 2001, the Mañe Rural Hotel was born, a space created to offer rest to those who seek nature, authenticity and a homely feel, leaving behind stress and savouring tranquillity in the middle of nature. A paradise of inspiration in the very heart of Euskal Herria.
Located in a privileged location , on the foothills of Mount Urko, at about 350 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains, trails, local fauna and stunning green landscapes, our rural hotel consists of 10 rooms of different types, a common area with fireplace, a large balcony and green surrounding areas.
Furthermore, it is strategically located in the heart of the Basque Country, allowing you to easily access numerous points of interest. Just 40 km from Bilbao, 100 km from San Sebastián, 85 km from Vitoria and 135 km from Pamplona, we offer an ideal place to explore both the nearby mountains and coastal areas, and the most prominent cities of the region.
Rural environment
Our rural hotel sits on the slopes of Mount Urko, 350 meters above sea level, in the picturesque village of Mallabia (Bizkaia). An authentic Basque farmhouse surrounded by mountains, crystal clear streams and a vibrant green landscape, typical of the Basque Country. Access to the hotel is an experience in itself, through paved road surrounded by trees and the murmur of a river.
The environment, dotted with traditional farmhouses and local fauna such as cows, sheep, horses and native birds, such as the common blackbird, the common finch, … and sometimes even the the red kite or some peregrine falcon, connects you with the purest nature. Upon arrival, you will enjoy spectacular views of the most emblematic mountains of the Basque Country: Mount Oiz, Urko, Amboto and, weather permitting, the Gorbea in Araba. A living postcard that remains engraved in the memory.
